Why Choose the Evac+Chair 500H Bariatric MK5 Evacuation Chair?
This chair builds on the clever design of the Evac+Chair 300H, with the addition of an increased payload capacity and descent control handle to help two operators ensure a steady evacuation down stairs. Suitable for evacuation of virtually any type of patient, this chair is an ideal choice if you know there are larger people in need of assistance in the event of an emergency, and also for situations where it's difficult to predict the needs of a potential visitor. This makes it perfect for premises with frequent visitors, as it ensures your capability to meet the needs of all vulnerable people.

How Do I Use the Evac+Chair MK5 Evacuation Chair?
One person can operate this chair for stair descent evacuations, and an additional descent control handle at the front allows a second operator to assist (when required). Secure the patient using the three straps, and keep a firm hold of the double hand grip at the rear of the chair, and the descent control handle when applicable. Tilt the chair back, and push confidently until the friction track is making contact with the two top stairs. Then, the braking friction track will make contact with each successive stair, slowing the descent of the chair to prevent the need for excessive force to be used by the operator(s).
Unique Friction Belt for Smooth Descent
The friction belt system separates this chair from other stair descent chairs, as it actually provides a constant braking mechanism that will guide the chair down stairs for a smooth traversal. It will stay in contact contact with the stairs as you move, helping to compensate for those with less strength than others. This allows the user to guide the direction of the chair, rather than having to hold the entire weight of a larger user at any point.
The dotted lines show the smooth motion of the friction track as it descends
Three Straps and Foot Grip/Descent Handle
To accommodate patients with severe injuries or lower levels of motor control, the chair features three straps: a safety belt, an integrated head rest strap, and foot strap. This will keep the patient upright in the correct position, while ensuring the weight load maintains in a stable and consistent position for easier manoeuvring. When the foldable descent handle is being used by an operator, use of the foot strap will ensure the passenger's feet do not disrupt the grip of the descent control operator.
The descent control handles allow a second operator to assist with downstair evacuations
Redesigned Hammock
The hammock seat has been improved from previous designs, making it more comfortable for the patient, as well as more compact when stored away. The material used in the hammock and headrest are both comfortable and hard-wearing, ensuring they will be ready for effective evacuations when needed.
